<div>Per Diem On-Call Nurse
Named by the Boston Globe as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts for the last three years, our community-based, mission-driven hospice and palliative care organization seeks a Registered Nurse to join our dedicated on-call team. The ideal candidate will take calls, triage patients&rsquo; symptoms over the phone and, when necessary, make home visits. This nurse will have strong assessment skills and be confident in symptom management. Reliable transportation is required as this is a travel position. Care is provided in patient&rsquo;s private homes and residential facilities throughout Greater Boston and parts of Metrowest.
Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Triage all calls that come in after hours.</li><li>
Provide symptom management to alleviate discomfort and stress in the family system.</li><li>
Make home visits to hospice patients.</li></ul>
Schedule and Weekly Hours:<ul><li>
This schedule can be discussed between the candidate and the hiring manager. There is flexibility based on open shifts and candidate availability. Evening shifts are from 4 pm to 1 am and night shifts are from 1 am to 10 am. 
The Per Diem position can work as many shifts as desired based on the availability of the candidates and the available number of shifts.</li></ul>
Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
<ul><li>Licensed by the Commonwealth of MA as a Registered Nurse.</li><li>
At least 1 year of Hospice or Palliative experience preferred; or at least 2 years of oncology nursing.</li><li>
Demonstrate strong triage skills.</li><li>
Demonstrate an understanding of hospice philosophy and pain and symptom management.</li><li>
Demonstrate a willingness to visit patients at night if symptoms are not alleviated after first triage call.</li><li>
Ability to work within diverse social and economic situations without imposing own values.</li><li>
Demonstrate an understanding of team approach and communication.</li><li>
Contribute to a positive atmosphere and demonstrate positive interactions with patients/families and colleagues.</li></ul>

$83,000-$97,000 range for a 40-hour equivalent role. Salary will be prorated based on a preferred schedule. This number reflects an average starting range for this position. Individual pay is determined through a variety of factors including experience, education, certifications, and skills, and can exceed the starting range.
