About the Role Kazempour Law, APC is seeking a Big Law&ndash;trained civil litigator ready to step into a role offering greater autonomy, work-life balance, and meaningful case ownership. This position is ideal for an attorney who has developed strong litigation skills at a large firm but wants to apply them in a focused, high-stakes California practice where results&mdash;not billable hours&mdash;define success.This position offers direct case responsibility, collaboration on significant employment and housing matters, and the opportunity to transition into a full-time leadership role with the firm.Qualifications<ul><li>Active California Bar license in good standing</li><li>J.D. from a Top 14 law school, graduated cum laude or higher</li><li>Minimum 3 years of experience in California civil litigation at a large or national law firm</li><li>Strong command of the California Code of Civil Procedure, local rules, and legal citation standards</li></ul>Core Litigation Skills Must have demonstrated success with:<ul><li>Drafting and filing complaints and responsive pleadings</li><li>Managing written discovery (drafting, propounding, and responding)</li><li>Preparing meet and confer letters and engaging in discovery dispute resolution</li><li>Drafting and arguing motions, including:</li><li>Demurrers</li><li>Motions to Strike</li><li>Motions for Summary Judgment</li><li>Motions to Compel</li><li>Motions in Limine</li><li>Motions for Protective Orders</li><li>Motions to Quash</li></ul>Key Competencies<ul><li>Exceptional legal writing and analysis &mdash; clear, persuasive, and strategic</li><li>Detail-oriented and fluent in California procedural rules and formatting standards</li><li>Organized, responsive, and efficient under tight deadlines</li><li>A winning mindset &mdash; someone who writes to win, argues to win, and expects to win</li></ul>Why This Role This position is designed for a Big Law associate who wants to continue doing sophisticated litigation work&mdash;without sacrificing balance or purpose.
