I am an Associate Professor and an educator for the last 30 years. I have completed my BScN from Mac Master University, Hamilton, Canada graduating Summa Cum Laude. My Master’s in Education from the University of Wales, Cardiff, U.K. My doctorate was in Nursing Education from Ambrosiana University, Milan, Italy. In addition, I have a Senior Fellowship with Higher Education Academy, UK. I have worked at Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan ( 1986-2019) in positions of increasing responsibility. From 1995-1999, I held the position of Assistant Manager Nursing Educational Services (a staff development and continuing education) in the hospital. From 2003- 2007, I was the Director of the General Nursing Diploma Program with 300 students and 20 faculties. From 2008 to 2014 I held the position of Director BScN and Post RN responsible for a total of 550 undergraduate students at AKUSONAM and 30 faculties. From 2014 to July 2017, I was the founding Director at SON to hold the portfolio of Blended Learning as well as being the Director of the Post RN BSCN. My most recent portfolio has been holding two administrative positions simultaneously at the University; Director Post RN BScN and Blended Learning and founding Interim Co Director, Centre for Innovation in Medical Education (CIME) from September 2015 to December 2016. My appointment as Interim Co- Director, led to setting up the first simulation centre in the country. In 2019 I joined the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates as Chair & Associate Professor of the Department of Nursing, College of Health Sciences where I am leading the four year baccalaureate program and two year Bridging RN baccalaureate program. Additionally, I initiated the Masters in Adult Critical Care in the UAE in 2020 and the first cohort graduated in 2023. At the national level in UAE for Nursing and Midwifery I was the nursing representative from the University of Sharjah for developing the first UAE National Competency and Professional Practice Framework for Undergraduate Nursing Programs.
