Prof. Ghazi Gaseem Al-Khateeb received his doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in Civil Engineering/Transportation specialty from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA in 2001, the degree of Master of Science (M.S.) and the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering/Transportation specialty from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 1991 and 1994, respectively. Prof. Al-Khateeb is currently a professor at the University of Sharjah (UOS) in the United Arab Emirates (01/09/2015-present). He also served as a visiting professor at the American University of Sharjah, UAE (01/09/2014-31/08/2015) and as a professor at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) (09/2006-present). Prof. Al-Khateeb held the position of Vice Dean of Engineering at JUST for two years (09/2012-09/2014). Before that, he worked as a senior research scientist at the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC) of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) in Virginia, USA from 11/2000 to 09/2006. He served as a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Association of Asphalt Paving Technologies (AAPT), Jordan Engineers Association (JEA), Jordan Society for Scientific Research (JSSR), and Jordan Road Accidents Prevention (JRAP). He is a member of the Sustainable Construction Materials and Structural Systems Research Group of the Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE) at the University of Sharjah. Prof. Al-Khateeb has published more than 120 publications in international journals, conference proceedings, book chapters, books, as well as technical key reports. Recently Prof. Al-Khateeb published the First Edition of his Book with 1080 pages in Two Volumes: Volume I “Traffic and Pavement Engineering” and Volume II “Highway Planning, Survey, and Design” by the International Publisher “Taylor and Francis Group” / CRC Press. Prof. Al-Khateeb is listed in Who’s Who in Engineering Academia. He is an active reviewer for more than twenty international indexed and refereed scientific journals. Atidel B. Hadj-Alouane is currently Professor of Industrial Engineering (IE) at the University of Sharjah, in the UAE. Until June 2021, she held the position of Professor in the IE department at the National Engineering School of Tunis (ENIT), Tunisia. She holds the M.S.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and the Principal Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering from ENIT. She founded, in 2005, the Optimization and Analysis of Service and Industrial Systems (OASIS) laboratory which she directed until the end of 2020. In ENIT, she co-founded the master’s program in Industrial and Systems Engineering, in 2006, and directed it until the end of 2013. She also co-founded the PhD program in Industrial Engineering, in 2014, and directed it until 2021. Atidel B. Hadj-Alouane is a leading researcher in Optimization and Supply chain design and management. Her research is supported by several grants and is published in several reputed journals.
