Senior Data Engineer

Job Purpose

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining the data processing on the platform and transforming it into usable information for Data Scientists and Analysts to interpret. 

Job Responsibilities

• Define and build business intelligence and data warehouse product strategy and execution.
• Define and drive data lake and big data platform.
• Collaborate with the stakeholders to ensure the Data platform developments are aligned with the business needs.
• Develop PRD and the technical specifications for new features.
• Define and implement strategy to empower users to leverage data through training, documentation, self-service tools etc.
• Build coalitions and working across a range of teams, including UX, engineering, compliance, inventory, finance, support, sales, CRM and marketing.
• Propose new technologies, frameworks and tools to improve the product, team efficiency or process.
• Collaborates well with other engineers and other engineering groups, voluntarily shares information.
• Mentors and nurture other team members and help them grow.
• Proactive, responsible and reliable in design, suggesting new methods, implementation and delivery. 
• Assists in recruiting and educating new team members. 

Desired Skills and Experience 

• 5+ years of Data Engineering experience.
• Experience working in QlikSense, Tableau, Power BI Environment.
• Knowledge of Hive/Hadoop/SQL/MongoDB/Cassandra and other related products.
• Started as J2EE Developer with exceptional knowledge and experience in JAVASCRIPT, Node JS & Python.
• Spark, Kafka, Hive, Python and Scala for Machine learning.
• Open source visualization utilizing tools such D3JS.
