Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Dubai, UAE

Employment Type: Full Time

BUILDING CONTRACTING EXPERIENCE ONLY

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage project-related financial transactions, ensuring accurate cost allocation to specific construction activities, including labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
• Prepare and maintain project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost variance reports for ongoing and upcoming construction projects.
• Verify and process progress payment certificates, retention, and variations, coordinating closely with the Quantity Surveying and Project Management teams.
• Conduct detailed review and reconciliation of subcontractor and supplier invoices against work progress, purchase orders, and delivery notes.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable cycles, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and accurate invoicing to clients.
• Oversee payroll processing for site and office employees, including overtime calculations and end-of-service benefits in compliance with UAE labor laws.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounts related to construction activities.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports, including profit and loss statements by project, cost analysis, and expense tracking.
• Ensure VAT compliance and filing in accordance with UAE tax regulations, particularly for construction contracts and associated expenses.
• Collaborate with the procurement and project teams to monitor committed costs, purchase orders, and inventory management.
• Conduct periodic financial audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with international and local accounting standards.
• Provide financial guidance and support to Project Managers and Department Heads for budget management and cost optimization.
• Identify and implement process improvements for financial reporting and cost control systems specific to construction projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting within the building contracting or construction industry in UAE.
• Proficiency in accounting Oracle Fusion & QuickBooks

Pay: AED1,000.00 - AED50,000.00 per month
