Job Summary:

The Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing construction project from start to finish. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing on-site activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivering the project on time and within budget. The Construction Manager plays a crucial role in managing the construction process, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and supervising both on-site and off-site activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning:
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with Consultant, engineers, and other professionals to ensure the project design is is implemented as per the desires of Consultant and Client in most cost-effective way.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • On-Site Management:
  • Supervise construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and other on-site personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Budget and Cost Management:
  • Prepare and manage the project budget, including cost estimates, budget forecasts, and tracking of expenditures.
  • Approve and process purchase orders, invoices, and change orders.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Schedule Management:
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all construction activities.
  • Identify potential delays and take corrective actions to keep the project on track.
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure that project milestones are met.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, timelines, and any issues.
  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to discuss project status and resolve concerns.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Quality Control:
  • Ensure all construction work meets the quality standards and specifications outlined in the project plan.
  • Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee the completion of final inspections and ensure that all punch list items are addressed.
  • Contract Management:
  • Review and manage construction contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Negotiate contract terms with subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
  • Monitor and manage contractual obligations and deliverables.
  • Project Closeout:
  • Oversee the completion of final inspections and ensure all project deliverables are met.
  • Prepare and submit project closeout documentation, including as-built drawings, warranties, and operation manuals.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement in future projects.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • BSC (Civil), Engineering (UET, Taxila, Lahore, Peshawar)
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in construction of Buildings including Basements and Soldier Piles
  • Experience of work on contractor side with consultant preferably NESPAK.
