
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing project costs throughout the entire construction process. You will work closely with the project team, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs, based on project plans and specifications.
Monitor project expenses and implement cost control measures to ensure that the project stays within the approved budget.
Coordinate the procurement process for materials and subcontractors, including obtaining quotes, negotiating contracts, and analyzing supplier bids for cost-effectiveness.
Administer and manage construction contracts, including verifying contractor payment applications, processing variations, and resolving contract-related issues.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering without compromising the project's quality and functionality.
Assess potential risks and uncertainties that may affect project costs and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Prepare regular reports on project costs, forecasts, and financial performance for the project stakeholders.
Manage and document any changes to the scope of work and its impact on project costs.
Assist in resolving any cost-related disputes that may arise during the construction process.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cost-related documents, including contracts, invoices, and variations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Relevant professional certifications (DAE, QC)
Proven experience in quantity surveying and cost management within the construction industry.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of construction contracts and relevant regulations.
