Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

The role of Assistant Retail Manager is key to the smooth day-to-day operational process of the retail store. The role is vital in ensuring a unique customer experience, while maintaining premium levels of standards. Standard operating procedure control will be integral to all aspects of the role. They will be vital in ensuring both the corporate and channel specific strategies are implemented at store level.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Control and maintenance of internal and external shop standards, including execution of any improvements required.
  • Clear understanding of path to success to achieve both top and bottom line sales targets for the retail store.
  • Actively presenting business development suggestions to the retail manager.
  • Implementing all agreed promotional and activation activities set for the retail store, including merchandising standards and pre agreed sales targets.
  • Setting staff rotas, including store working location, maintaining Bayan system in lines with lieu hour controls and company policies.
  • Drive staff development including but not limited to, group and 1-1 meetings, training's and team welfare maintenance.
  • Implementing and driving customer focused environment ensuring service is at the heart of all retail activities..
  • Promote a culture of up selling and Average transaction value awareness throughout all staff members and store locations.
  • Control of costs accrued in retail, including but not limited to, stock loss, breakage, miss-punch, cash variance, petty cash requests.
  • Report and analyse sales data to understand trends in shopping patterns and customer behaviours.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Management experience essential, leading a team of +10 people
  • Excellent communication skills essential
  • Forward Thinking – ability to formulate their own ideas alongside those presented to them.
  • Detail orientated in both personal and professional attributes.
  • Ability to motivate both themselves and others to surpass targets and standards set.
  • Flexible in their working pattern, minimum 5 closing shifts per week.
  • Passion for development both personally and of others.
  • Retail experience essential, Liquor experience beneficial but not necessary.
  • Leadership qualities.
  • Customer Service focused in all aspects of their working habits.
  • Passionate for fostering relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
