Job Summary:

We seek a Business Development Expert with proven expertise in leveraging online freelance platforms such as Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer. This individual will be responsible for driving the growth of our business by identifying lucrative projects, crafting high-quality proposals, managing client relationships, and optimizing our presence across these platforms. As part of a dynamic team, the Business Development Executive will use technical systems and tools to track progress, improve bidding strategies, and ensure consistent client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bid Management & Proposal Development:
  • Identify relevant and high-value projects on Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer based on specific criteria such as budget, timeline, client reviews, and skillset.
  • Write highly customized, persuasive, and technical proposals tailored to each project, using best practices for proposal optimization (including Upwork Connects, Fiverr Gig Extras, and Freelancer Contests).
  • Monitor and manage multiple bids concurrently, ensuring timely responses and high win rates.
  • Leverage AI, machine learning, and automation tools (e.g., Upwork’s “Smart Proposals,” Fiverr’s “Gig Promotion,” and Freelancer's "Project Bidding Automation") for optimized bid submissions and client targeting.
  • Client Communication & Relationship Management:
  • Established and maintained positive relationships with clients by providing professional communication, managing expectations, and offering solutions on time.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries, clarifying requirements and providing progress updates, ensuring the project is on track.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that client requirements are met and feedback is addressed promptly.
  • Market & Competitor Research:
  • Conduct regular market analysis to identify new trends, emerging niches, and profitable opportunities within the freelance platforms.
  • Analyze competitors’ profiles, service offerings, proposal strategies, pricing models, and client reviews to continuously refine the bidding process.
  • Stay updated with new platform features, tools, and updates to gain a competitive edge.
  • Account & Project Management:
  • Manage client accounts from initial inquiry through project completion, ensuring smooth communication and timely deliverables.
  • Utilize project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana, Monday.com) for task management and collaboration.
  • Track client interactions, project milestones, and feedback using CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects with high client satisfaction.
  • Strategic Growth & Optimization:
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase visibility, engagement, and client acquisition on Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer.
  • Use SEO techniques to optimize profiles, gigs, and proposals for higher visibility in platform search results and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain a consistent 5-star rating to encourage repeat business and referrals from existing clients.
  • Reporting & Analytics:
  • Use platform-specific tools such as Upwork Analytics, Fiverr Insights, and Freelancer Performance to track performance, monitor KPIs, and gather insights.
  • Provide regular reports to management on KPIs, including proposal success rates, conversion rates, revenue, client retention, and platform engagement.
  • Implement data-driven strategies to optimize the proposal process and enhance conversion rates.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, and project management on Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer.
  • A successful track record of writing winning proposals, securing projects, and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Become familiar with platform-specific processes, such as Upwork Connects, Fiverr Gig Extras, and Freelancer’s Project Bidding.
  • Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of freelance platform management tools and automation (Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer).
  • Proficiency with CRM tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar to manage leads and client communications.
  • Experience with project management platforms (e.g., Trello, Asana, Monday.com) for team collaboration and task tracking.
  • SEO knowledge to optimize profiles, proposals, and gig pages for search engine visibility.
  • Familiarity with tools for generating client insights and analytics to improve business strategies.
  • Communication & Writing Skills:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive, detailed, and clear proposals.
  • Ability to negotiate, close deals, and set clear expectations with clients.
  • 3 plus of experienced in professional client negotiations and handling inquiries with professionalism.
  • Organizational Skills:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, able to manage multiple bids, ongoing projects, and client relationships simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage numerous tasks without sacrificing quality.
  • Analytical & Reporting Skills:
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple platforms and produce actionable insights to improve success rates and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in analyzing performance metrics and fine-tuning strategies for maximum effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a freelancer or within a freelance agency environment, with hands-on experience on Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer.
  • Advanced knowledge of SEO, content marketing, or digital marketing strategies.
  • Experience with online marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs) to improve visibility and bidding success.
  • A background in tech, web development, graphic design, or other niche freelance services is a plus.
