Job Summary

Our prestigious and rapidly growing law firm in Dubai is seeking an accomplished and experienced Shipping and Maritime Lawyer at the Partner Level . The ideal candidate must have an established Book of Business , a strong background in shipping and maritime law, and prior experience as a Partner in leading law firms . This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a thriving legal environment, contributing to the firm's strategic growth while leading and expanding the Shipping and Maritime practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Shipping and Maritime Law practice within the firm.
• Provide expert legal counsel on shipping, marine insurance, regulatory compliance, charter parties, ship financing, and maritime disputes.
• Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters related to maritime law.
• Drive business development initiatives and leverage an existing Book of Business to enhance the firms client portfolio.
• Collaborate with all departments to provide comprehensive legal services.
• Mentor and guide junior lawyers and associates within the team.
• Maintain strong relationships with key industry players, including shipowners, insurers, ports, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure compliance with UAE maritime laws and international shipping regulations.
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Shipping and Maritime Lawyer.
• Proven track record as a Partner in a reputable law firm, with experience in managing clients and legal teams.
• Strong Book of Business with established client relationships.
• Expertise in maritime contracts, ship finance, cargo claims, P&I club matters and port regulations.
• Experience handling dispute resolution, arbitration and litigation in maritime law.
• Admitted to practice law in a recognized jurisdiction.
• Strong business development skills and ability to contribute to the firm's growth strategy.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with UAE maritime regulations and international conventions governing shipping law.
