The Mechanical Draftsman will be responsible for producing accurate and coordinated MEP drawings, ensuring compliance with design specifications, authority regulations, and project standards. This role requires expertise in CAD software and a strong understanding of mechanical systems in complex, large-scale building developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting shop drawings and coordination layouts for high-rise buildings.
• Develop 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Translate design sketches and engineering notes into comprehensive and accurate drawings.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineer or consultant feedback and design changes.
• Coordinate mechanical drawings with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines to identify and resolve clashes.
• Ensure all drawings comply with UAE authority requirements (e.g., DEWA, DM, DCD, ADDC, etc.) and international standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA).
• Assist in preparing drawings for authority submissions and ensure timely revisions based on comments received.
• Maintain a well-organized drawing register and documentation system.
• Support project teams by preparing as-built drawings, redline markups, and site modification details.
• Work closely with site engineers and project managers to understand site conditions and incorporate them into updated drawings.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

• Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of drafting experience, with at least 3 years in the UAE on high-rise residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, with experience in Revit MEP, Navisworks, or other BIM tools being a strong advantage.
• Sound knowledge of mechanical systems used in high-rise construction.
• Familiar with local UAE building codes and authority submission requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all drafting work.
• Good communication and team coordination skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with leading MEP contractors or consultants in the UAE/GCC.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination processes.
• Worked on fast-track design & build or turnkey projects.
