Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to lead and optimize the operations of our food delivery service. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of daily operations, maintaining service quality, optimizing delivery processes, and managing a team of delivery personnel, customer support staff, and operational specialists. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction while improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Daily Operations:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the food delivery service, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient deliveries.
  • Monitor the delivery network (drivers, fleet management, and delivery partners) to ensure smooth operation and excellent service standards.
  • Address operational issues such as delays, customer complaints, and other challenges in real time.
  • Process Optimization & Efficiency:
  • Implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce delivery times, and minimize costs.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve delivery workflows, routes, and use of technology.
  • Collaborate with the tech team to refine the ordering and dispatch systems for better user experience.
  • Quality Control & Customer Satisfaction:
  • Ensure all deliveries meet the company’s quality standards and customer satisfaction expectations.
  • Handle escalated customer complaints, issues, and service disruptions in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor customer feedback and analyze service delivery data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Fleet & Logistics Management:
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance, driver scheduling, and vehicle fleet management (if applicable).
  • Ensure all delivery vehicles and drivers comply with safety, insurance, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics partners for fleet scaling, if necessary.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyze operational data, including delivery times, costs, customer feedback, and operational bottlenecks.
  • Report key performance metrics (KPIs) to senior management and provide actionable insights for improvement.
  • Develop and manage reporting systems to monitor daily operations, delivery performance, and service quality.
  • Budget & Cost Management:
  • Manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while meeting service goals.
  • Monitor and control expenses related to logistics, labor, technology, and customer service.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure that all operational activities adhere to food safety and health regulations.
  • Implement protocols for food safety, driver safety, and delivery service compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in food delivery, e-commerce, or logistics.
  • Experience with managing a large team, ideally in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain logistics, fleet management, and delivery systems.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in operational software and tools (e.g., delivery management software, route optimization tools).
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of food safety standards, logistics, and delivery operations.
  • Familiarity with customer service practices and managing customer expectations.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with food delivery apps or platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data analytics and performance monitoring.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or similar process improvement training.
  • Ability to use software tools such as Google Analytics, Tableau, or similar for data-driven decision-making.
