Responsibilities:

• Designing/drawing/producing manufacturing drawings for joinery and fitted furniture
• Preparing all parts for every element of joinery ready for machining
• Working on a range of joinery projects, focusing on bespoke and high-end works, supporting the design phase of projects and engineering work fit for manufacture/assembly/installation
• Communicating on the status of day-to-day projects
• Successfully translating briefs (drawings/image/descriptions) into joinery CAD models

Special Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years CAD design experience in the joinery sector (essential)
• Previous experience in Joinery Field ONLY
• Ability to use their software or with the ability to understand the software to make bespoke joinery
• Sound understanding of how things are put together, what materials to use and fixings required, with the ability to draw in 3D as well as create flat patterns where required
• Inventor of Solidworks, as well as 3D design experience, you will ideally also be able to use photoshop
• Strong Microsoft office skills
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Perceptive with comments, engaging with the factory team
• Self-motivated, flexible with the ability to work accurately on an independent basis, always giving excellent attention to detail
• Positive attitidude and work ethic with the ability to develop ongoing relationships
• A flair for design with excellent joinery/furniture drawing skills
• Strong literacy/numeracy/mathematical/designing skills as preparation of detailed technical drawings are essential to the job

Key Duties of a Joinery Designer:

• Repairing and maintaining wood work, windows, etc
• Making timber frames
• Cut, Shape, assemble various types of structures and fittings made from wood
• Design projects
