Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Fire Life Safety (FLS) Draftsman to join our engineering team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of hands-on experience in producing accurate fire protection and life safety drawings for building projects, ensuring compliance with UAE Civil Defense regulations and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for fire protection systems—including sprinkler layouts, pipe riser diagrams, fire pump room plans, fire hydrant and hose reel locations—using AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Develop shop drawings, isometric views, and schematic diagrams for fire suppression and alarm systems.
• Produce bar bending schedules (BBS) and material take-offs for fire suppression piping.
• Coordinate FLS drawings with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure seamless integration and clash-free designs using Navisworks Manage.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to UAE Civil Defense codes, NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 72), and project-specific BIM/ drafting protocols.
• Update and revise drawings to reflect design changes, site feedback, and coordination comments promptly.
• Maintain version control and document management per company QA/QC procedures.
• Liaise with fire protection engineers, project managers, and site teams to clarify drawing requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Conduct periodic site visits to verify dimensions, inspect installed systems, and implement necessary drawing revisions.
• Assist in the preparation of project submittals and as-built documentation for handover to authorities and clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an FLS Draftsman on building projects in Abu Dhabi or the UAE.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and familiarity with Navisworks for coordination.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection systems (sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, suppression agents) and life safety equipment.
• Thorough understanding of UAE Civil Defense regulations and relevant NFPA standards.
• Excellent drafting, detailing, and spatial visualization skills.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and ability to manage multiple drawing sets.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to evolving project requirements.
