Job Purpose:

We are seeking for Bio-Flooring Technician to execute the installation, maintenance, and repair of eco-friendly and bio-based flooring systems in accordance with industry standards, safety regulations, and sustainable building practices. The Bio-Flooring Technician ensures quality craftsmanship and supports the environmental goals of green construction projects by working with advanced bio-materials and responsible installation techniques.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Installation of Flooring Systems
• Install bio-based flooring materials such as bamboo, cork, linoleum, recycled rubber, and other sustainable products.
• Follow detailed blueprints, layout drawings, and manufacturer instructions.
• Surface Preparation
• Clean, level, and prepare subfloors using eco-friendly primers, underlayments, and moisture barriers.
• Remove old flooring when necessary and ensure proper disposal in accordance with environmental guidelines.
• Material Handling
• Transport, store, and stage materials to prevent damage and maintain sustainability standards.
• Use adhesives, finishes, and tools appropriate for bio-materials.
• Quality Assurance
• Ensure the final installation meets appearance, performance, and durability standards.
• Conduct post-installation inspections and make any necessary corrections.
• Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
• Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Handle materials and tools in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Team Collaboration
• Work under the direction of supervisors or project managers.
• Communicate effectively with other trades and crew members on-site.
• Maintenance & Repairs
• Assist in maintaining installed bio-flooring systems and conduct basic repairs as needed.
• Apply eco-safe cleaning or refinishing techniques.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Technical training or certification in flooring installation or green building practices (preferred).
• Experience:
• 1–3 years of experience in flooring installation or construction.
• Familiarity with sustainable or bio-based flooring materials is a plus.
• Certifications (Preferred):
• OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour Construction Safety Certification.
• Basic Flooring Installer Certificate (e.g., NWFA, CFI) or equivalent.
• LEED Green Associate (advantageous but not required).

• Proficient with hand and power tools used in flooring installation.
• Understanding of different bio-materials and their specific handling and installation techniques.

• Strong focus on fit, finish, and visual alignment of flooring installations.
• Ability to detect surface imperfections and correct issues on-site.
• Physical Stamina:
• Capable of standing, kneeling, lifting, and performing physically demanding work.
• Safety Awareness:
• Knowledge of safe work practices and commitment to following environmental and safety regulations.
