
The Plumbing Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating plumbing installations, maintenance, and repairs for high-rise building projects. This includes supervising a team of plumbers, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols, and maintaining compliance with relevant codes and regulations
Key Responsibilities:
§ Oversee and manage the daily activities of the HVAC team, including technicians and subcontractors, on high-rise building projects.
§ Delegate tasks to team members and ensure they are completed efficiently and within the project timelines.
§ Conduct daily toolbox talks to address safety practices, work goals, and challenges.
§ Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems, including ductwork, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV systems, and ventilation systems.
§ Ensure proper alignment, insulation, and sealing of ducts and other HVAC components.
§ Oversee periodic maintenance and servicing of HVAC systems during construction phases.
§ Inspect the installation and functioning of HVAC systems to ensure adherence to project specifications, blueprints, and relevant codes and standards.
§ Identify and rectify defects or discrepancies during installation or commissioning phases.
§ Coordinate with QA/QC personnel to ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures.
§ Collaborate with MEP engineers, architects, and other trades (electrical, plumbing, etc.) to resolve conflicts and ensure seamless integration of systems.
§ Coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of HVAC equipment and materials.
§ Maintain accurate records of HVAC work progress, including daily reports, material usage, and manpower deployment.
§ Report any delays, issues, or deviations from the plan to the Site Engineer or Project Manager.
§ Assist in preparing as-built drawings and documentation for project handover.
§ Enforce adherence to safety protocols and regulations for all HVAC-related work on-site.
§ Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
§ Ensure team members wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
§ Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to HVAC systems during installation and operation phases.
§ Provide guidance to technicians on resolving complex problems effectively and efficiently.
§ Train and mentor junior technicians and workers on HVAC systems and installation best practices.
§ Promote continuous learning to ensure the team remains updated on new technologies and methodologies
Qualifications and Experience and Skills:
Education: Diploma or technical certification in HVAC systems or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in HVAC installation and maintenance, preferably in high-rise building projects.
Knowledge: Thorough understanding of HVAC systems, blueprints, MEP coordination, and relevant standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.).
Skills: Leadership, communication, problem-solving, and ability to manage a diverse team.
Physical Fitness: Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and under challenging site conditions.
