Job Description

The Plumbing Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating plumbing installations, maintenance, and repairs for high-rise building projects. This includes supervising a team of plumbers, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols, and maintaining compliance with relevant codes and regulations

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of plumbers and plumbing assistants on-site.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure optimal workforce utilization.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and provide on-the-job training to team members.
  • Ensure workers comply with safety protocols, company policies, and project guidelines.
  • Read and interpret plumbing drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Plan daily tasks and coordinate with the MEP Supervisor and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee the installation of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and equipment, for water supply, drainage, and sewage systems.
  • Monitor and ensure the timely completion of plumbing activities as per the project schedule.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory codes.
  • Identify and address any installation defects or discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with quality control teams for periodic inspections and documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of plumbing materials and tools on-site.
  • Prepare material requisition forms and ensure timely procurement of required items.
  • Verify the quality and quantity of delivered materials.
  • Collaborate with other trades (electrical, HVAC, civil) to resolve any conflicts or overlaps in work activities.
  • Communicate effectively with the MEP Supervisor and project stakeholders regarding progress, issues, or requirements.
  • Report daily progress, challenges, and any deviations from the project plan.
  • Ensure all plumbing work complies with occupational health and safety standards.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Investigate and report any incidents or near-misses to the safety officer.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues during construction and post-handover phases.
  • Provide technical support during warranty or maintenance periods.
  • Maintain accurate records of plumbing work completed, including daily logs, inspection reports, and material usage.
  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings and other project documentation.

Qualifications and Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma or vocational training in plumbing or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role on high-rise building projects.
