Job Description

Job Summary:

The MEP Project Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for high-rise building projects. The role ensures that all MEP systems are designed, installed, and maintained to meet project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The Project Manager will serve as a key liaison between stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery of the project on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets for all MEP activities.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to the site.
  • Coordinate with the design team to ensure compliance with project requirements and technical specifications.
  • Lead and manage the MEP team, including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
  • Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance.
  • Foster a collaborative environment among MEP, civil, and architectural teams.
  • Monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of all MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is progressing according to plan and quality standards.
  • Resolve technical and coordination issues that arise during the construction phase.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors regarding MEP matters.
  • Collaborate with other departments and trades to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on MEP progress and challenges.
  • Ensure that all MEP works comply with local building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs for MEP installations.
  • Prepare for and participate in inspections and audits by regulatory authorities.
  • Track project expenses and manage budgets to avoid overruns.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices related to MEP works.
  • Enforce adherence to safety protocols for all MEP activities on-site.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Maintain detailed records of project progress, including daily reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, milestones, and challenges.

Qualifications and Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical (or a related field).
  • 10+ years of experience in MEP project management, with a focus on high-rise building projects.

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, codes, and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC).
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other design tools is an advantage
