
Job Title: Proposal Engineer – Grid Stations
Department: Estimation & Proposal
Reports to: Estimation Manager / Proposals Head
A Proposal Engineer for a Grid Station job involves preparing and submitting technical and commercial proposals for grid station projects. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, understanding client requirements, developing technical specifications, creating cost estimates, and coordinating with various teams.
The role requires strong technical knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
· Proactively seek out and assess potential grid station projects, including transmission lines and electrification.
- Prepare a comprehensive Proposal Study Report summarizing scope, risks, and assumptions.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and detailed BOQ for all MEP disciplines.
- Conduct site visits and prepare reports to evaluate on-ground conditions impacting the estimation.
· Analyze tender documents, conduct site surveys, and clarify technical aspects with clients.
- Implement bid strategies as directed by the Proposal Manager.
· Create technical compliance sheets, BoQs, and outline project specifications based on tender documents.
· Calculate project costs, including materials, labor, and other expenses, ensuring competitive and profitable bids.
· Coordinate with vendors for RFQs, negotiate pricing, and manage vendor relationships for project procurement.
· Work with commercial, logistics, civil, project, and planning departments to ensure proposal accuracy and feasibility.
· Prepare and submit pre-qualification documents, expressions of interest, and other necessary paperwork for bids.
- Assist in compiling technical and commercial bid submissions, including all supporting documentation.
- Support in post-tender clarifications, negotiations, and alignment meetings with vendors and clients.
· Maintain records of tenders, vendor contacts, customer details, and project status.
· Monitor and control the strategic procurement process for projects, particularly foreign currency components.
· Present proposals to clients and stakeholders, addressing their queries and concerns.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
· Minimum 3 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in grid station projects.
· Strong technical knowledge of grid stations, transmission lines, and related systems. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams), and potentially MS Projects.
· Ability to analyze project requirements, conduct cost estimations, and evaluate vendor proposals.
