Position Summary:

We are seeking a technically proficient Data Scientist with strong experience in automation, process optimization, and working with Excel-based systems. This role is primarily focused on executing technical tasks, building optimization models, and automating manual processes using both code and Excel tools and SQL Queries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy automation solutions to replace manual workflows using Python, Excel (including macros/VBA), and related tools.
• Design, implement, and maintain optimization models for resource planning, logistics, or operational efficiency.
• Build and support Excel-based tools, dashboards, and calculators for non-technical users.
• Integrate Excel systems with data pipelines and APIs where applicable.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to embed models into processes and tools.
• Provide technical documentation, maintain version control of tools, and ensure reproducibility.
• Offer insights and suggestions when appropriate, without being accountable for final decisions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Strong Python skills (pandas, NumPy, SciPy, OR-Tools, PuLP, etc.).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, macros, and VBA scripting.
• Experience building optimization models (e.g., linear programming, constraint solving).
• Proficiency in SQL and working with structured data.
• Experience automating data flows, reports, or calculations using both code and Excel.
• Clear communicator with strong attention to detail and documentation habits.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data pipeline tools.
• Knowledge of API integration for Excel (e.g., Power Query, Office Scripts, or Python-Excel bridges).
• Experience in manufacturing, logistics, finance, or operations-heavy domains.
