Annuall salary range for this position is $102,000.00 - $132,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Merrick & Company is looking for a Process Engineer to join our team in Oak Ridge, TN. We’re seeking candidates who are passionate about nuclear design, enjoy problem-solving, and appreciate the outdoor lifestyle that Tennessee offers.
In this role, you will primarily focus on innovative nuclear and energy projects. Successful candidates will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers and designers to deliver high-quality design and engineering solutions.

- Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, and General Arrangement Drawings.
- Perform sizing calculations for equipment such as compressors, chillers, and pumps.
- Conduct process line sizing calculations.
- Size control valves, pressure relief devices, and orifices.
- Create equipment and instrument datasheets.
- Coordinate with vendors for the selection of instrumentation and equipment.
- Review and verify the work of other process engineers for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate design inputs and activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (other engineering degrees may be considered with relevant experience).
- At least eight years of related experience or training.
- Proficient in ChemCad, AFT Fathom, and AFT Arrow for hydraulic pipe flow modeling.
- Must be able and willing to obtain a Q clearance.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License in Tennessee and/or South Carolina.
- Client projects for this position require US Citizenship.
- Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear projects.
