The Opportunity

This role is critical for our community engagement and to ensure that affected communities understand our services and activities. ACCM Assistant is contributing to implementation of communications strategy and is responsible for the active presence of Save the Children Türkiye across digital platforms and social media. The post holder will also work on development graphic design materials. ACCM Assistant will produce high quality multimedia content, including video, photographs, and produce graphic design in support of the country advocacy and program strategy on the humanitarian situation in Türkiye. The ACCM Assistant will produce content to be used in all Save the Children media, social media channels, fundraising campaigns, websites, mobile app etc.

Working closely with child safeguarding and child protection colleagues, ensure that all children
involved in our communications, advocacy, and media work are protected from potential mental and physical harm, and potential repercussions from their involvement in our communications,
advocacy, and media work.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and editing skills
  • Fluency in both spoken and written Turkish and English to provide outputs for a wide range of different audiences
  • One year of professional experience in communications, multimedia, journalism, visual and digital or traditional media or external communications work
  • Experience working sensitively with vulnerable groups
  • Knowledge of graphic design and/or video editing software (Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Experience of using professional DV camera, sound equipment, lighting set ups, SLR cameras and video footage using professional editing software.
  • Can produce accurate, clear and consistent information and communication outputs relating to both program support and humanitarian situation
  • Proven ability to work with communities and partners to gather content on the humanitarian situation and on programs.
  • Experience and understanding of the situation in Türkiye, including the sensitivities
  • Substantial experience of working in remote field bases with Iimited infrastructure
  • Excellent understanding of international audiences and their varying visual communication needs
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities
  • Shows strong willingness and curiosity to learn and develop
  • High level of spoken and written Arabic is highly desirable
  • Prior knowledge of social media management platforms such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social etc. is highly desirable.
  • Experience or knowledge of working and living in humanitarian contexts is highly desirable.


Position holder will be based in Istanbul, Hatay, Gaziantep and Adıyaman, therefore legal right to work in Türkiye is necessary at the time of application. Applications will be evaluated in a rolling basis.
