About the Company For nearly 80 years, a leading California grower has been producing and supplying premium-quality plant material for commercial, municipal, and landscape projects. With more than 1,000 acres of production across multiple sites statewide, we specialize in trees, shrubs, palms, citrus, and ornamental plants grown for large developers, architects, contractors, and municipalities. About the Role We're seeking a driven and service-minded Account Manager to develop and maintain relationships with wholesale clients throughout Southern California. This role is ideal for a motivated sales professional who combines horticultural knowledge with strong relationship-building and business-development skills. You'll manage an existing portfolio of accounts while pursuing new opportunities in the landscape and development markets. Success in this role comes from providing expert plant recommendations, timely support, and consistent follow-through that earns client trust and repeat business. Key Responsibilities Manage and grow wholesale customer accounts - including landscape architects, contractors, developers, and municipalities. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking and relationship development. Prepare and submit accurate bids and proposals; follow up to close sales. Recommend plant material and alternatives based on availability, performance, and client specifications. Stay current on product mix, pricing, and market trends. Represent the company at trade shows, client meetings, and industry events. Provide weekly updates and sales reports to management. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of sales experience in the nursery, landscape, or ornamental horticulture industry. Strong plant identification and product knowledge. Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver results. Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Compensation & Benefits Base salary $60K-$80K DOE during initial period. Competitive commission structure with six-figure earning potential. Performance reviews at 30, 60, and 90 days to evaluate transition to commission-only plan. Established book of business and extensive product availability to support your success. Schedule Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Hybrid schedule (remote + 2 days in office)
