Job Description: Accountancy Teacher – ICSE Syllabus

Position: Accountancy Teacher
Department: Commerce

Location: Sree Jayam School Vellore
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time

1. Role Overview

The Accountancy Teacher is responsible for teaching ICSE Board–based Accountancy to students of Classes IX–XII (as applicable). The role includes planning lessons, preparing students for exams, maintaining academic records, and supporting overall student development.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Accountancy topics as per ICSE syllabus, including:
  • Basic accounting concepts
  • Journal entries and ledger posting
  • Trial balance and rectification of errors
  • Bank reconciliation statement
  • Depreciation
  • Final accounts
  • Partnership accounts
  • Company accounts
  • Accounting ratios
  • Cash flow statements
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans, worksheets, and assignments.
  • Conduct regular class tests and maintain records of student performance.
  • Guide students in solving past ICSE board papers and sample papers.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and board exams.
  • Maintain discipline and ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Update attendance, marks, and evaluation records as required.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and academic planning meetings.
  • Provide remedial classes for weak students when necessary.

3. Qualifications & Skills

Educational Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Commerce (M.Com) / Accounting / Finance.
  • B.Ed. qualification (mandatory as per ICSE norms).

Skills:

  • Strong subject knowledge in Accountancy and ICSE syllabus.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to use digital teaching tools (Smartboard/ERP/LMS).
  • Analytical and problem-solving approach.
  • Patience and ability to motivate students.

4. Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in ICSE/ISC curriculum preferred.
  • Experience in preparing students for board exams will be an added advantage.

5. Additional Responsibilities

  • Support school events, exhibitions, and cultural activities.
  • Assist in conducting commerce-related competitions or clubs.
  • Prepare annual and term-wise academic planning for Accountancy.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
