Accountant

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills and a solid understanding of financial principles. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulations, and the preparation of financial statements. The Accountant will work closely with various departments to provide insights and support for financial decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage journal entries and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
• Perform reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing analytical support.
• Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and securities law.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Quicken for efficient record-keeping.
• Prepare reports on financial performance, highlighting trends and variances.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide insights on financial data related to LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) projects.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in technical accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and data analysis.
• Experience with accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with UAE accounting standards and compliance.
• Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software, specifically QuickBooks and Quicken.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of financial services industry practices is a plus.
• Experience with LIHTC projects is advantageous but not required. Location:
