An Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insights into a company's financial health. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Bookkeeping: Record and reconcile financial transactions, ensuring that all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts to help guide business decision-making.
- Audit Preparation: Prepare for and support internal or external audits by providing necessary financial documentation and explanations.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting regulations and standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) to ensure compliance.
- Advisory Support: Provide financial advice and support to management, helping to guide business strategies and operational decisions.
Skills & Qualifications:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is often preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Good understanding of tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
