Job SummaryThe Accountant is responsible for managing all financial activities of the school, including fee collection, payroll processing, budget preparation, expense monitoring, and financial reporting. The role ensures accurate, transparent, and compliant accounting practices in alignment with school policies and statutory requirements.---

Key Responsibilities

1. Fee ManagementMaintain student fee records and billing.Generate and issue fee invoices, reminders, and receipts.Monitor outstanding fees and follow up with parents.Coordinate with Admin for scholarships, concessions, and refunds.

2. Accounting & BookkeepingMaintain accurate ledgers, journals, vouchers, and financial statements.Record and reconcile income, expenses, and bank transactions.Manage cash book, petty cash, and daily expense sheets.Ensure timely entry of all transactions in accounting software.

3. Payroll & HR SupportPrepare monthly payroll for teaching and non-teaching staff.Calculate deductions for PF, ESI, Taxes, Leave, Advances.Maintain employee salary and attendance records.

4. Budgeting & Financial PlanningAssist in annual budget preparation and expense forecasts.Monitor budget utilization and flag variances.Control operational costs and suggest improvements.

5. Procurement & Vendor PaymentsVerify quotations, purchase orders, and bills.Process payments to suppliers, contractors, and service providers.Maintain vendor database and agreements.

6. Statutory CompliancePrepare and file required financial documents.Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, etc.Liaise with auditors, banks, and government authorities.

7. Financial ReportingPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Present reports to Management/Principal.Conduct internal audits and ensure data accuracy.

8. Hostel & Boarding AccountsTrack boarding & lodging expenses for students and staff.Manage inventory, mess accounts, and hostel fee collections.

QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance (B.Com, M.Com).CA/ICWA (Inter) preferred.

Experience2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an educational institution.SkillsKnowledge of accounting principles & statutory regulations.

Proficiency in Tally / ERP software / MS Excel.Strong analytical and reporting skills.Good communication & interpersonal skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Working Conditions

Full-time, on-site role.

May require extra hours during audits, admissions, and fee collection periods.
