Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing After Care Teacher/Supervisor to oversee children in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and supportive atmosphere for children after school hours. This role requires strong classroom management skills, experience working with children, and the ability to foster positive development through various activities. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's growth while working in a collaborative team setting.

Duties

  • Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including arts, crafts, sports, and educational games
  • Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning and play
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding any concerns at After Care
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for children of diverse backgrounds
  • Support special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention when required
  • Participate in ongoing training related to early childhood education, behavior management, and child safety

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate has a degree in early childhood/childhood education with 5+ years of experience
  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, babysitting, or youth programs
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
  • Certification in first aid and CPR preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Background in special education or experience supporting children with special needs is a plus but not necessary
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and team members
  • Understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Passion for nurturing children's growth and creating an engaging learning environment

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
