After Care Teacher/Supervisor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing After Care Teacher/Supervisor to oversee children in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and supportive atmosphere for children after school hours. This role requires strong classroom management skills, experience working with children, and the ability to foster positive development through various activities. Duties

• Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including arts, crafts, sports, and educational games
• Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
• Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning and play
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding any concerns at After Care
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
• Collaborate with other staff members to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for children of diverse backgrounds
• Support special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized attention when required
• Participate in ongoing training related to early childhood education, behavior management, and child safety

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate has a degree in early childhood/childhood education with 5+ years of experience
• Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, babysitting, or youth programs
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
• Certification in first aid and CPR preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Background in special education or experience supporting children with special needs is a plus but not necessary
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and team members
• Understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
• Passion for nurturing children's growth and creating an engaging learning environment

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
