After-School Instructor - Filmmaking Enrichment Classes for Elementary Students

**Bridge toll will be reimbursed for any candidates crossing over a toll bridge to reach our classes**

We are looking for creative and enthusiastic instructors to lead our hands-on filmmaking classes for elementary school students!

This exciting program introduces young learners to the world of storytelling, acting, and production. Students will explore every step of the filmmaking process — from writing scripts and designing props to directing scenes, operating cameras, and planning shots.

Working together as a film crew, they’ll bring their ideas to life on screen while learning teamwork, communication, and creative problem-solving. Each session culminates in a class-produced film, professionally edited by instructors and shared as a keepsake that celebrates imagination, collaboration, and fun!

This program is a perfect blend of creativity and technical learning, inspiring students to express themselves through the art of filmmaking.

Lesson plans will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver filmmaking concepts to children in TK–K and Grades 1–5.
• Make topics easy to understand using playful techniques.
• Helping students engage in learning process

Required Qualifications:

• Most important- Fun and engaging personality, ability to motivate elementary students and build trust
• Knowledge and experience in teaching hands-on filmmaking concepts
• Good understanding of filmmaking and storytelling concepts
• Creativity and passion to inspire students’ to think innovatively and get basic awareness
• Ability to encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and come up with creative ideas
• Positive reinforcement to encourage students’ efforts and help them see challenges as opportunities for growth
• Patience, empathy, as well as the ability to connect with students of all ages and to adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of each student
• Clear communication and organizational skills to ensure instructions are easy to follow and lessons stay on track, while making the most of the time
• Ability to create engaging and interactive learning experiences
• Ability to encourage students to work in teams
• Be able to clear background checks and TB test
• At least 1 year's experience working with elementary-aged children
• Effective classroom management skills (up to 20 students at a time)
• At least 2 years of college education
• Able to commute to school sites in San Rafael/Mill Valley, CA and surrounding cities - have your transportation
• Ability to lift and carry ~20-50 lbs. on an occasional basis with or without accommodations.

Compensation:

We pay in the range of $28-$32 per hour. You’ll be paid 3 hours for each class that you teach. Instructional time is only 60-75 mins. 3 hours of compensation per class includes and covers lesson plan review and prep to deliver the lesson, communication with parents, prep/wait time at the school site, class instruction time, dismissal procedures at the end of the class, and coordination with our lead teacher and operations team. You will be required to arrive 20-30 mins. before start time and leave only after the last student has been picked up or left.

Availability:

• After school hours between 1:00 PM-4:00 PM
• 1-3 days per week to start with - Monday through Friday
