Airport Maintenance Technician

This role is part of a career ladder -placement and pay will be based on your skills, experience, and qualifications. What You'll Do:
As an Airport Maintenance Technician, you'll tackle a variety of important tasks that keep our airport running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

• Grounds Maintenance: Mowing, landscaping, planting, pruning, mulching, weeding, and maintaining fences.
• Paved Areas: Sweeping, repairing, and ensuring the safety of all paved surfaces, including airport runways
• Equipment Operation: Operating, fueling, and cleaning trucks, tractors, and other powered tools.
• Building Repairs: Plumbing, painting, carpentry, masonry, and other facility maintenance tasks.
• Airfield Systems: Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and lighting systems, as well as security gates and passenger loading bridges.
• Weather Response: Removing snow and ice during winter conditions.

This job involves working outdoors in all types of weather. Since we are open 24/7, 365 days a year, this position requires some holiday work, as well as participation in a night and weekend on-call rotation. The rotation is shared among the team and typically occurs only once every 6-8 weeks, ensuring coverage while keeping the schedule fair and predictable.

What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A High School diploma or equivalent.

• Hands-on experience in one or more of the following: electrical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, or groundskeeping

• A team player with a strong work ethic and problem-solving mindset

• A valid Virginia driver's license and a clean driving record.
• The ability to pass a TSA security clearance and drug test.
