ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.

POSITION: ANALYST, PROCUREMENT

JOB GRADE: STRATUM I – HIGH

DEPARTMENT: FINANCE

NUMBER OF POSITION(S): ONE (1)

Role Purpose

To undertake all material planning activities (daily and capital buying) and to procure stock items (local) including medical requirements to ensure timely and accurate specifications as requested by the operations.

Role Accountabilities

• Reviews all approved purchase requisitions (both stock and non-stock) regularly to expedite order placement and ensure continuous flow of materials to meet production demands.
• Ensures that materials to be ordered are accurately described to enable suppliers to identify them and quote accordingly.
• Prepares statistical report on purchase orders placed for inclusion in Procurement & Supply Chain monthly report.
• Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
• Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers and price options
• Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts
• Ensure that the products and supplies are high quality
• Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions of orders and warranties of goods and products with key suppliers.
• Ensure efficient and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services
• Monitor and analyze the reports of spending to make recommendations and identify areas for possible savings.
• Performs all other duties that maybe assigned by immediate superior.

Person’s Specification

Qualification

• BSc Procurement and Supply Chain Management or it’s related from a recognized institution.
• Advance Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain
• Level five (5) CIPS Certification.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Supply Chain position or related field within the mining industry.

Other Competencies

• An In-depth knowledge in SAP ERP and Microsoft Office Suite
• Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policies, and systems.
• Exhibit proven negotiation and influencing skills as well as the ability to identify, recommend and implement cost effective efficiencies for overall improvement to the operation.
• Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
• Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts
• Excellent interpersonal and good relationships with vendors/suppliers
• Must Possess valid Ghanaian Driving License to operate Light Vehicle.
