About the Opportunity

The Law Office of Pennie A. Cox-Esq is seeking dependable Appearance Attorneys throughout Alabama to cover consumer debt-defense hearings in District and Small Claims Courts.

This flexible opportunity is ideal for solo practitioners, new attorneys, or those seeking additional courtroom experience. You’ll receive all pleadings, hearing notes, and appearance instructions the evening before court. Most hearings are short, routine appearances such as docket calls, motions, or continuances.

Responsibilities/Job Description

• Attend and handle assigned debt-defense hearings.
• Review materials and follow case-specific instructions provided in advance.
• Communicate promptly after court using a standardized reporting form.
• Maintain professionalism and punctuality in all court appearances.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed and in good standing with the Alabama State Bar.
• Reliable transportation to appear in assigned courts.
• Prior civil or consumer litigation experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and courtroom presence.

Compensation

• $150 per case, paid per appearance, per case (for example: 3 cases = $450).
• Payment issued within 7 days of verified appearance.

Coverage Areas

We are expanding coverage statewide, including but not limited to:
Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile, Huntsville, Tuscaloosa, Dothan, Opelika, Enterprise, Florence, Cullman, Anniston, Troy, Decatur, and all surrounding counties.
