WSP’s Visualization and Data Intelligence (VDI) national practice provides expert support for professional services consulting initiatives. WSP is seeking an Application Developer to join the VDI Web Team in Buffalo, NY ; consideration will also be given to candidates based at other WSP office locations . The successful candidate will support a variety of consulting projects of differing complexity and duration, collaborating closely with colleagues and clients within a dynamic and adaptable work environment. The team's approach integrates aspects of both agile (scrum) and traditional (waterfall) development methodologies, tailored to meet client requirements and project objectives.

Your Impact

  • Assist in the architecture, development, and launching and maintenance of scalable .NET web applications.
  • Collaboratively work on front-end development with a focus on accessibility and responsiveness.
  • Implement UI/UX design execution in web applications.
  • Contribute to technical specs and contribute to core code and documentation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues, bugs, and optimize performance.
  • Support, enhance, and maintain legacy systems.
  • Mentor team members.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or related field.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • 5-7 years custom development experience with ASP.NET/C# with a strong focus on UI/UX experience.
  • Experience in front-end frameworks (React preferred, or Vue, Angular, Blazor), HTML5, JavaScript (ES6+), CSS3, and JSON.
  • Experience in front-end architecture, performance optimization, and cross-browser testing.
  • Experience in one or more database technologies (Transact-SQL with SQL Server, MySQL, etc.).
  • Experience with geospatial tools (Mapbox, Google Maps, or ArcGIS).
  • Experience in accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG 2.0), front-end build tools (Webpack, Tailwind, Vite), and SEO best practices.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft platforms, frameworks, and tools.
  • Experience with CMS platforms (Umbraco, Kentico, SiteCore, WordPress, etc.).
  • Experience with continuous growth and learning within a team.
  • Experience working in DevOps / Git environment for version control with a good discipline in pull requests and merge branch operations.
  • Experience/working knowledge of AWS and Azure Cloud Environments.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consulting or fast-paced, multi-project environments.
  • Experience with Umbraco CMS platform.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $100,000 - $130,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
