Description

Reno Orthopedic Center wants you to join the team as a Application Support Trainer! We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated team member to design and lead technical training programs for employees to improve Epic proficiency at our Main Location - 555 N. Arlington Ave.

Please note: This is an onsite position.

What would you do in this role?

Are you ready to make a lasting impact on a dynamic healthcare organization? We are seeking an experienced and proactive Epic Training Specialist to provide essential training and support across multiple teams, from new hires to leadership. In this role, you will play a key part in equipping employees with the skills and knowledge they need to navigate EPIC updates and business workflows efficiently.

As a vital member of the team, you’ll create and deliver Epic screen-by-screen training, tailoring it to different roles, business functions, and organizational needs. You’ll stay ahead of the curve, continuously updating your knowledge of EPIC changes and identifying emerging training requirements to ensure the organization remains aligned with best practices. Your ability to work closely with employees to assess their technical needs and objectives will directly contribute to the success of the training program.

You’ll have the opportunity to manage small to medium-sized projects and initiatives, collaborating with various teams to support clinical and business applications. Additionally, your expertise will help deliver impactful training for new hires, providers, and special training sessions, ensuring every individual receives the guidance and tools they need to succeed. And with your first-level problem analysis and in-depth knowledge of assigned applications, you will offer valuable support to clinical and operational departments alike.

A Day in the Life

Level 1 Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing training and support for new hires, employees in new roles or with new assignments, providers, leadership, and for organization-wide training on EPIC updates;
  • Create and deliver Epic screen by screen training through business workflows (business functions can vary);
  • Maintain current knowledge of EPIC updates and other pertinent changes that may drive training needs;
  • Work with the employees to determine their technical requirements and therefore their training needs and objectives;
  • Manage small to medium projects or specific aspects of projects and initiatives for training and support for clinical or business applications;
  • Prepare and deliver effective training for all new hires, providers, and special training sessions;
  • Provide first level problem analysis, acquires a base knowledge of assigned applications to support clinical and operational departments.


Level 2 Responsibilities includes all responsibilities in Level 1 and additionally:

  • Compose and maintain company standard operating procedures (specific company workflows) from an Epic perspective;
  • Assist leadership with workflows/departments/areas being affected by changes and updates and provide at the elbow support for all Go-Live updates and enhancements affecting ROC;
  • Evaluate trainee performance using observation and testing to ensure transfer of knowledge and application to day-to-day operations;
  • Perform audits for specific lines of business to ensure ROC workflows/protocols are being followed;
  • Modify and share reports using the Epic provided reports library.

Requirements

Certifications/Education

  • High School Diploma/GED;

Knowledge of:

  • Workflows and terminology in a medical clinic environment;
  • MS Office and presentation software.

Experience:

  • One year of experience using Epic, the electronic health records system;
  • Training staff how to use Epic, the electronic health records system;
  • Communicating effectively with professional and clinical staff.

Preferred Qualifications - How can you set yourself apart from other applicants? (if app.)

  • Epic credentialed trainer certification by completing the outlined training and demonstrating comprehension through passing a curriculum assessment:
  • Travel: May require travel to offsite locations based on manager discretion.
