Position Overview:

The ABA Therapist at an Early Intervention Center will provide individualized therapy services to children with disabilities, using evidence-based techniques to support the development of critical skills, reduce maladaptive behaviors, and improve overall functioning. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Arabic and English to effectively communicate directly with children, their families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective treatment plans and monitor progress over time.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Therapy Implementation

  • Deliver individualized ABA therapy programs to children with a variety of disabilities (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays).
  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessments and treatment goals.
  • Teach skills in areas such as communication, socialization, daily living, academic tasks, and motor skills using ABA techniques like discrete trial training (DTT), natural environment teaching (NET), and reinforcement strategies.

2. Progress Monitoring:

  • Collect and record data on each child’s progress according to treatment plans.
  • Track behavioral data, skill acquisition data, and other relevant measurements to monitor outcomes.
  • Prepare progress reports and assist in the analysis of the data to adjust therapy approaches as needed.

3. Collaboration:

  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including other therapists, psychologists, and educators, to ensure holistic care for children.
  • Engage with families to provide updates, share strategies, and ensure consistency of interventions at home.
  • Support and educate parents in reinforcing the skills learned during therapy sessions at home.

4. Behavioral Support:

  • Provide intervention to reduce challenging behaviors such as aggression, self-injury, tantrums, or non-compliance.
  • Use positive behavior support techniques to encourage the development of more adaptive and functional behaviors.

5. Training and Development:

  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in ABA therapy.
  • Train and mentor other team members if necessary, in ABA therapy practices.

6. Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, progress, and behavioral incidents.
  • Complete and submit regular reports on children’s progress to supervisors, parents, and other professionals involved.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Behavior Analysis, or a related field (ABA certification preferred).
  • RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification, BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst), or BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) certification is highly preferred.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (both written and spoken).
  • Certificate of Equivalency from Ministry of Education, UAE is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in implementing ABA therapy programs for children with disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
