Architect Design Engineer

Position Summary

The Architect Design Engineer is responsible for developing creative, functional, and technically sound architectural designs for residential, commercial, industrial, retail, and institutional projects. The role integrates design development, technical detailing, coordination, and compliance with codes and standards to deliver high-quality project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities1. Concept & Detailed Design

• Develop architectural concepts, space planning, and schematic layouts based on project requirements.
• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, 3D models, and design presentations.
• Translate conceptual designs into technical drawings and construction documents.
• Ensure design aesthetics align with functional requirements and project goals.
• Work with BIM/Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and visualization tools.

2. Technical Documentation

• Prepare construction drawings, GFCs, tender documents, and working drawings.
• Develop technical details for façades, interiors, building envelopes, and joinery.
• Prepare material specifications, schedules, and BOQs.
• Ensure all drawings comply with building codes, standards, and regulatory guidelines (NBC, local bylaws, ADA, fire norms).

3. Coordination & Collaboration

• Coordinate with structural, MEP, landscape, and interior design teams.
• Work closely with consultants, contractors, and project managers.
• Attend client meetings to collect requirements and present design options.
• Review and approve shop drawings and material submittals.

4. Regulatory Compliance

• Prepare and submit drawings for statutory approvals.
• Ensure adherence to zoning laws, fire safety codes, environmental norms, and accessibility standards.
• Provide support in responding to authority queries and obtaining clearances.

5. Construction Stage Support

• Conduct periodic site visits to ensure design intent is executed properly.
• Resolve design inconsistencies and provide technical clarifications.
• Review as-built drawings and assess quality of architectural works.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong design sensibility with an understanding of form, function, and practicality.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, Lumion/Enscape, and other visualization tools.
• Excellent knowledge of building codes, construction systems, materials, and detailing.
• Strong problem-solving ability and technical decision-making.
• Good communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.

Qualifications

• B.Arch / M.Arch from a recognized institution.
• 3–10+ years of experience in architectural design (varies by seniority level).
• Experience across residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use projects preferred.

Preferred

• Experience with BIM workflows and 3D coordination.
• Exposure to sustainable design, green buildings, and energy-efficient planning.
• Strong portfolio showcasing conceptual and technical work.

• Pune, Maharashtra: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
