Job description

Role and Responsibilities

The Architectural Designer is primarily responsible for working with and designing New Construction and Remodeling projects with clients under the supervision and mentorship of our experienced team. Other duties and tasks include:

  • 50% Architecture – Consultation and design of custom residential homes and accessory buildings. To include hand sketches, Soft Plan CAD, and future design software to include Sketch Up & Revit.
  • 15% Selection & Estimating – work with clients to select materials for cabinets, countertops, hardware, doors, siding colors and any other selections required for their home. This includes documentation of the selections, communicating with the client on budget vs. selection costs and communicating selections to the Project Managers or vendor (if applicable).
  • 10% Initial Sales consultations – this includes conducting initial sales follow ups and lead qualifications.
  • 10% Cabinet Design & Ordering – this could be using plans already prepared or new designs. Ordering is done through the 2020 Kitchen and Bath Design program.
  • 10% Work with Supply Vendors to develop relationships for best pricing and best methods for clients to determine their selections. Keep informed of product changes, availability, and pricing impacts. Build knowledge base on trends in construction materials to include millwork, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, interior doors, and hardware.
  • 5% Maintain showroom with appropriate samples and current styles. Keep the showroom clean and comfortable for clients.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Degree or some formal education with an architecture or interior design emphasis. Experience in construction industry is preferred

Preferred Skills

Computer Aided Design skills preferably with Revit, Soft Plan, Sketch Up, 2020 Kitchen and Bath Software, and an ability to work with A.I. programs. General Computer Skills (Microsoft Office Products as well as ability to learn other software), Excellent Written/Verbal Communication Skills, Attention to Detail, Basic Math Skills to work with Budgets and Customer Service Skills

Additional Notes

Local travel is required to job sites and vendor locations with private auto (mileage reimbursement is provided) and must have ability to lift to 25 pounds. A willingness to initially work with field carpenters as a learning experience is encouraged

Pay: $66,532.16 - $80,124.76 per year
