Type: W-2 Employee on Contract, 8 Month Contract, January - August 2026

Location: NYC/NJ, Hybrid, in-person collaboration at co-working spaces as needed

Role

We are seeking a technically strong, detail-oriented Intermediate Architectural Designer to join our team on an initial 8-month contract basis, with option to renew. The candidate will support the coordination, documentation, and delivery of multiple concurrent architectural projects from design development through construction administration, however the primary focus will be the adaptive reuse of a 28,000 SF community center in North Carolina.

The successful candidate is highly proficient in Revit, is comfortable taking ownership of drawing sets and consultant coordination, lead junior staff and specialty consultants, and is able to maintain production quality, technical accuracy, and schedule discipline with limited oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate production of design and construction documents in Revit
  • Coordinate design information across disciplines (MEP / structural / specialty consultants)
  • Conduct existing building surveys and prepare survey reports (travel as applicable)
  • Review design documents for code compliance, QA, technical accuracy, and consistency
  • Develop construction details and align specifications with drawings
  • Support schematic through CA project phases, including RFI and submittal review
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams
  • Maintain project schedules, priorities, and task tracking for assigned scopes
  • Identify coordination gaps, technical risks, or schedule risks and escalate when necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • 4-6 years of post-graduate experience
  • Proficient in Revit
  • Experience developing full CD sets for commercial and mixed-use work
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. building codes, materials, detailing, and regulatory processes
  • Experience coordinating with engineering consultants and construction teams
  • Excellent written communication and organization skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently

Term & Renewal

  • 8-month contract (Jan 6 – Aug 31, 2026)
  • Option to renew based on performance, project pipeline, and funding

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
