Assistant / Associate Professor in Information Technology - Cybersecurity

Job Title: Assistant / Associate Professor in Information Technology - Cybersecurity

The Department of Information Technology at the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) at Ajman University invites applications for a full time Assistant or Associate Professor position in Information Technology-Cybersecurity, starting Spring 2025. The selected candidate will focus on research and teaching in Cybersecurity. The role includes undergraduate teaching, active engagement with industry and business communities, and contribution to the Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity program.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Ph.D. from a reputable university.
  • Outstanding teaching record.
  • Outstanding research and publications record in top journals.
  • Adequate experience in supervising student projects and thesis papers.
  • Record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research is an advantage.
  • Excellent record in community service and scholarly activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach undergraduate courses in Cybersecurity and Computer Science.
  • Engage in innovative and technology based approaches to learning and teaching.
  • Participate in committees at the departmental, college, and university levels as assigned.
  • Promote the growth of Ajman University.
  • Provide consultancy services to researchers and the business community.
  • Assess and track each student's progress and give feedback to support ongoing success.
  • Conduct high quality research in your own field and publish in reputable journals and conferences.
  • Ensure a respectful and culturally sensitive learning environment.
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships across the organization and community.
  • Motivate and inspire confidence in students and colleagues.
  • Seek out methods, procedures, and resources to best achieve course and lesson objectives.
  • Maintain relationships with students that are conducive to learning.
  • Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Familiarity with the "Credit Hour" academic system.
  • Ability to supervise student work and provide academic advising.
  • Ability to conduct independent research and publish in reputable journals and conferences.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse team members.
  • Knowledge of academic program planning and implementation.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
