Job Summary:

This position reports directly to the Director of Branch Operations. It provides primary support to branch staff and serves members directly. The role is responsible for managing the credit union's risk exposure by implementing and maintaining appropriate security procedures, ensuring that personnel actions are consistent with industry standards and company policies and procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing leadership and support to branch staff, answering questions; solving problems; helping with complex transactions, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures for optimal branch performance.
  • Prepare and conduct monthly branch meetings to discuss progress and goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the work of head teller and other staff, providing prompt and objective coaching, and counseling as appropriate.
  • Engage members in meaningful conversations to uncover their financial needs.
  • Train branch personnel in operations, credit union product and services, member relations, and security protocols.
  • Disarming and Arming the branch within the appropriate times frames.
  • Support member services when needed by opening accounts, taking loan applications, and all other member and/or personnel support requests.
  • Ensure branch personnel are trained in their assigned duties and cross trained for optimal branch performance.
  • Ensure ATM’s and teller drawers balance every day, providing assistance to locate any differences and addressing dependencies promptly.
  • Collaborate with branch manager to ensure overall branch operations and credit union success.
  • Volunteering at community events, discussing credit unions products and services while creating a positive impact in the community.
  • Leading with Democracy Federal Credit Unions CCVs, of Passion, Integrity, Commitment. Ownership, Positive Attitude and Collaboration as primary focal point in servicing, staff, personnel and members.

Position Specifications/Requirements

  • Ability to work accurately with numbers and perform intermediate mathematical calculations with accuracy.

  • Thorough knowledge of the regulatory environment for credit union
  • Must be bondable and maintain bondability throughout employment with the credit union
  • Good, sound, and practical judgment

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associates Degree preferred)
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in branch operations
  • Previous supervisor experience in a credit union preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use the systems required for the job functions including Symitar, Synergy, ATM, Chexsystem
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements including BSA, Reg. CC, Reg. D, and Reg. E
  • Intermediate computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, and Excel required
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Professional appearance, dress and attitude
  • Good math skills
  • Ability to operate related computer applications and other business equipment including adding machine, copy machine, telephone, computer, etc.
  • Good typing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to travel to any of the branch locations at any time for any reason on a temporary or permanent basis

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other
  • federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Professional attire must be adhered to in accordance with the Employee Handbook.

Pay: $62,500.00 per year
