We invite you to apply for the position of Assistant City Engineer, a key leadership role within our Engineering Division!
As the second-in-command to the City Engineer, you will play an integral part in planning, building, and maintaining the City’s public infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to lead talented staff, manage complex capital projects, and ensure the successful delivery of high-impact, grant-funded initiatives. In this role, you will help guide the long-term vision for our city’s streets, utilities, and public works, while stepping in as Acting City Engineer when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field, plus 3-5 years of progressive professional engineering experience in municipal or public works projects. The NH Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC) registration as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) is required. The NH OPLC registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required within 24 months of employment. A valid driver’s license is required.
Salary and Benefits:
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $89,912– $112,046 annually and will also receive an attractive benefits package which includes low deductible/low-cost health insurance, low-cost dental insurance, State of NH Group I retirement, and other benefits such as life insurance, disability, and paid time off. Municipal employees may also qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.
