Fighting Chance are on the lookout for an experienced Assistant Manager to support the House Manager - SIL in the day-to-day operation of the Accommodation services.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the House Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Oversight of the operations of the SIL House from service delivery and working with participants to staff management
  • Building professional and positive relationships with participates and staff and able to respond as directed to changes in housemates and organisational needs
  • Role model to a high standard the policies, procedures, values and leadership standards of Fighting Chance - build a 'yes'-based culture.
  • Share learning and provide professional support to staff, stakeholders and families to ensure competent understanding and awareness of challenging behaviours and the effective implementation of behaviour support plans.
  • Provide support which reflects the Disability Services Standards, Child Safety, NDIS and other relevant legislative requirements and to report any potential breaches to management.
  • Contribute to developing a staff team in each of our houses with the talent, experience and skills to support housemates with complex behaviours, through training and staff check ins.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A relevant qualification and previous experience in similar program/support service delivery in the disability or similar sector.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the needs of people with a disability.
  • High bandwidth for multi-tasking.
  • Natural aptitude for and experience in delegation and managing people.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Total commitment to the values, behaviour and culture of Fighting Chance.
  • A passion for (and/or experience with) working with people with disability.
  • Possess a working knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
  • Display cultural awareness.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check.
  • Proof of Covid 19 Vaccinations - including Booster
