Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager Lab/QC & R&D will lead laboratory operations, ensure quality control of masterbatch production, and drive R&D initiatives. The role includes supervising daily testing, approving batches, improving formulations, ensuring instrument accuracy, coordinating customer colour approvals, and preparing QC/R&D reports to support production and management decisions.

Job Description:

  • Lead daily Lab & QC operations, ensuring accurate testing (MFI, dispersion, colour measurement, melt index, moisture).
  • Approve production batches and monitor product quality against standards.
  • Conduct R&D and formulation trials for colors, additives, and fillers.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab instruments and ensure compliance with QA standards.
  • Train lab staff on testing procedures, safety, and quality protocols.
  • Coordinate customer shade/colour approvals and address technical queries.
  • Prepare monthly QC & R&D reports for management.
  • Report quality deviations and collaborate with Production for corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.E. Polymer Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in plastic masterbatch/polymer QC and R&D.
  • Strong hands-on exposure to lab testing (MFI, dispersion, colour, moisture), batch approval, and formulation trials.
  • Skilled in instrument calibration, QC documentation, customer shade approvals, and coordinating with production for quality improvements.
