Role: Assistant Manager - Operations

Key Responsibilities:

● Warehouse Operations Management:

○ Oversee day-to-day operations in the warehouse, ensuring a smooth flow of inbound and outbound logistics.

○ Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory management, picking, packing, and dispatch.

○ Monitor and analyse warehouse performance metrics like throughput, order accuracy, and inventory turnover.

● Vendor Management:

○ Manage relationships with logistics partners, suppliers, and other third-party vendors.

○ Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure cost-effective procurement and service delivery.

○ Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations and ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards.

● Client Management:

○ Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring timely resolution.

○ Understand client requirements and align warehouse operations to meet their SLAs (Service Level Agreements).

○ Regularly provide clients with operational insights and updates through performance reports and review meetings.

● Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement:

○ Identify areas for process improvement and drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

○ Implement lean methodologies and best practices to minimize wastage and maximize productivity.

○ Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

● Team Leadership & Training:

○ Lead a team of warehouse supervisors, associates, and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.

○ Develop and implement training programs to upskill the team on SOPs, safety protocols, and the use of warehouse management systems (WMS).

○ Monitor and manage staff productivity, conduct performance reviews, and handle employee grievances.

● Data Analysis & Reporting:

○ Utilize MS Excel for data analysis, inventory tracking, and generating detailed reports.

○ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on warehouse operations, KPIs, and cost management.

○ Use data-driven insights to forecast demand, manage capacity planning, and ensure optimal stock levels.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

● Educational Background:

○ Bachelor's/Masters degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or a related field.

● Experience:

○ Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in warehouse management, logistics, or supply chain operations.

○ Proven track record in managing end-to-end warehouse operations, vendor relationships, and client coordination.

● Technical Skills:

○ Proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis, reporting, and inventory management (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and advanced functions).

○ Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP software, and other supply chain management tools.

○ Strong understanding of logistics workflows, inventory control, and transportation management.

● Soft Skills:

○ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, vendors, and team members.

○ Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to manage challenges in a fast-paced environment.

○ Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
