Position Summary
:
Under the supervision of the Chef/Production Manager,
the Assistant Production Manager will oversee daily production activities, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations, food safety standards, and company quality expectations. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of food production equipment, and the ability to drive efficiently through continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage production operations to meet quality, safety, and efficiency goals.

Monitor, draw up production schedules and adjust resources to meet customer demand.

Manage, motivate, and supervise production staff to ensure daily production targets are achieved.

Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs, and other food safety standards.

Oversee and maintain food production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.

Train, coach, and develop production staff to build a high-performing team.

Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth plant operations.

Maintain accurate production records and generate performance reports for leadership.
Qualifications:

Minimum Secondary/Diploma in Culinary Education or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 4+ years of hands-on and production management experience in the meat manufacturing industry

In-depth knowledge of USDA regulations, food safety programs, and quality management systems.

Strong understanding of food production equipment, maintenance processes, and plant operations.

Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
Base Salary:
$70,000
Bonus:
Will depend on Company’s financial performance (50% weight) and employee’s individual performance (50% weight). Will be prorated for the first-year of employment based on starting date.
Vacation policy
:
2 weeks/year PDO + 5 sick days for first 5 years of employment.
