Based on the Carnegie Foundation Classification System, The University of Cincinnati (www.uc.edu) is a Doctoral Granting Research University with very high research activity (RU/VH). Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, it is part of Ohio’s higher education system with over 50,000 students enrolled. The Health Promotion and Education Program is in the School of Human Services in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH). The School of Human Services also includes undergraduate and graduate programs in Counseling, Exercise Science, Behavior Analysis, School Psychology, Substance Abuse Counseling, and Sport Administration.
The School of Human Services is a leader in online course and program development, and there are many active collaborative activities across programs and with community partners. Within the School, the Health Promotion and Education program has 7 full-time faculty and a thriving student body. The program currently offers a Master of Science in Community Health and Prevention Science (fully online), a PhD in Health Education (on campus), a concentration in Health Education and Health Promotion in a Master of Public Health (MPH) program (hybrid with online and on campus classes) and a concentration in Health Promotion and Education in a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) (both online and on campus). The MPH and BSPH programs are collaborations between CECH and the College of Medicine. The MPH program is CEPH-accredited. The BSPH will be seeking accreditation under the MPH program.
The Health Promotion and Education Program in the School of Human Services at the University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The successful applicant will be expected to further the University's excellence in teaching and research (including obtaining external funding, publishing, and presenting). Teaching responsibilities will be both online and on campus.
