Assistant Technologist - Maintenance

Qualifications and Competencies:

• DAE or B. Tech in Electrical Technology or equivalent from a recognized institute.
• Industrial Electrical Experience in Oil & Gas Sector.
• Supervise and perform skilled preventive, breakdown and corrective maintenance/repair activities on transformers, pump motors, motor operated valves & LV panels.
• Perform corrective maintenance/repair activities on HV/LV switch gears, breakers, trolleys, area lighting, high tension switch gears, battery chargers, UPS, grounding system, hydraulic lifters, protective relays and miscellaneous electrical equipment installed at designated pumping / terminal station.

Experience: Up to 12 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out measurements; inspection and testing of components installed in equipment.
• Be abreast with the standard operating procedures, equipment maintenance and operation manuals, and vendor data for efficient and effective use.
• Obtain required work permits and liaise with operations to release devices.
• Monitor repair work carried out by contractors and workshops and ensures that technical specifications and other requirements and safety standards are being followed.
• Assist in placement of calibration tags on field instruments e.g. voltmeters, multimeters, clamp meters, ammeters, insulation resistance testers and other testing and measuring equipment and keep their recalibration and recertification updated.
• Be aware of safety manual, HSEQ / IMS and contribute to successful implementation with active participation.
• Carry out projects and modification work at site.
• Receive and review incoming work orders from supervisor for compliance.
• Ensure that the equipment, machinery etc. are adequately isolated electrically before attempting disassembly or other repair maintenance works on this equipment. Put warning tags and inform operation staff accordingly.
• Maintain complete history record of equipment through maintenance record.
• Ensure that safe working conditions are practiced during execution of work.
• Perform any other work/job assigned by immediate superior.
