The United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Oklahoma is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The office has approximately 100 employees consisting of attorneys and legal and administrative support staff. This office prosecutes federal crimes and defends the interests of the United States Government in civil cases.
The office is currently seeking applicants to fill one or more Assistant U.S. Attorney positions in the Civil Division. This position will have primary responsibility for both affirmative and defensive civil cases and matters from inception through resolution by settlement, motion practice, or trial.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Applicants must possess a J.D. degree from an accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the bar of a State, Territory, or the District of Columbia. The successful candidate must possess at least one (1) year of civil litigation experience that includes responsibility for discovery, trial and appeals, superior writing skills, good judgment, knowledge of civil practice and procedures, excellent communication and courtroom skills, and strong interpersonal skills. In addition, applicants must exhibit the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other attorneys, paralegals, support staff and client agencies. The selected candidate must be or must be willing and able to become within twelve months of appointment, an active member of the Oklahoma State Bar.

Assistant United States Attorneys' pay is administratively determined based, in part, on the number of years of professional attorney experience. The range of basic pay for this position is $73,939.00 to $193,394.00 per year which includes locality pay at 17.06%.
