Associate Attorney

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with experience in California workers’ compensation defense to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will manage a full caseload independently, communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel, and deliver high-quality legal representation in all phases of workers’ compensation litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of workers’ compensation cases, including discovery, depositions, hearings, and settlement negotiations
• Prepare and file pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents in compliance with procedural rules
• Provide case status updates to clients and carriers, keeping them informed of key developments and strategy
• Represent clients at WCAB hearings (primarily remote appearances; limited travel may be required)
• Conduct legal research and formulate defense strategies tailored to client goals
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and effective case resolution

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California
• 1–5 years of experience in California workers’ compensation defense preferred
• Strong knowledge of California Labor Code and WCAB procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple cases efficiently

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
